‘House Of Cards’ Doesn’t Need Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey was fired from House Of Cards because of his penchant for allegedly sexually harassing and/or allegedly sexually assaulting people, some of whom worked on the crew of the show.

We already know sexual harassment and sexual assault is a problem. More on that later, we’re sure, because this is rampant. But the point here is that Robin Wright is the real star of this show. Considering how hard she had to work just to get paid equally to Spacey, despite not having a ton of sexual harassment complaints against her from the set, it’s unfair if she has to suffer for his transgressions.

“I was like, ‘I want to be paid the same as Kevin,’” Wright told The Huffington Post in 2016.

“It was the perfect paradigm. There are very few films or TV shows where the male, the patriarch, and the matriarch are equal. And they are in House of Cards,” said Wright. “I was looking at the statistics and Claire Underwood’s character was more popular than [Frank’s] for a period of time. So I capitalized on it. I was like, ‘You better pay me or I’m going to go public.’ And they did.”

A period of time? She’s more popular forever.
