Wonder Womanowned her competition this weekend, and with good reason: The movie was moving, action-packed, and beautifully directed and acted by, respectively, Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot.
Here are a few life and workplace lessons you can learn from Wonder Woman everyday.
1. Protect yourself from attacks.
Whether that means turning in flawless work or just not letting criticism get to you, make your reputation invincible.
2. Be flexible.
Not every battle will find you on your feet. Learn to battle from below, too.
3. Surround yourself with the best.
You are the company you keep. Be a boss.
4. Don’t settle for less.
There’s nothing wrong with administrative work, but don’t feel trapped into it because of your gender.
5. Don’t let a man dictate your career choices.
Do what you want. Never upend your life for a man unless he’s your husband … and even then, think it over.
6. Develop quick reflexes.
Be able to defend yourself as needed. Don’t freeze.
7. Practice makes perfect.
You may not get everything right the first time, and that’s okay. Practice and train until you improve
8. Get a good manager or trainer.
To be the best, you have to learn from the best.
9. Be fearless.
Know how to do that without being stupid.
10. Shatter glass ceilings.
And windows. And maybe brick walls.
11. Know and embrace your own power.
